About Me

Welcome!

Hello, I’m Janine Kennedy, a counsellor and psychotherapist and I’m so glad that you’ve logged on.   I hope that here you find help in your journey to freedom and peace!

I support precious people who are overwhelmed to find the strength and encouragement they need to experience freedom, so that they can be free to focus on their own dreams and passions.

Check out A Life of Freedom where you will find information about relationships, food & weight issues, anxiety & more! I am a believer of God, and although my writing may include my christian faith at times, I fully respect you in your beliefs and values, and have worked with people from different/no faith.

In eating disorder recovery support, my approach is NOT a how to in terms of dieting or fitness or how to eat a perfect diet. I believe the goal is to eat intuitively, to embrace an imperfect life, and to live in balance.

I support others to learn to live in freedom and love yourself, without fear. Through therapy  you will find support and know that you are not alone in your struggles.

I update my website regularly with information and encouragement to support you on your journey.

You can take the step to come alongside me on a one to one basis via skype, telephone or face to face counselling.   I provide short or long term therapy, using a variety of therapeutic techniques some of which are CBT, mindfulness, humanistic, and solution focused therapy.   You will be assured a warm and safe environment in which you can explore, share and understand your thoughts and feelings and how they are presented within your reality.

I love to see and bring out the best in people, and have a passion for helping people to reach their full potential.  I have also overcome many of my own personal difficulties in life.  Because of this, I love to reach out to people who are struggling and overwhelmed with support and hope.

I am an accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with the NCS (National Counselling Society.  I abide by their code of ethics and work under professional supervision, practising in Belfast, Newtownabbey, the surrounding areas and also work online.  I  hold a current enhanced police check.  I provide counselling one day a week in Carrickfergus with the Cithrah Foundation to those who are affected by domestic violence and lead monthly support groups for those who experience eating distress.
